Redefining Diplomacy
Although uncertainty is a natural part of our world, it seems to be more prevalent than ever right now. In many areas, tensions are increasing, and where peace once appeared to be stable, it is now disintegrating. Systems that support international cooperation are being put to the test, and diplomacy needs to change as new divisions and conflicts emerge. The way we communicate, negotiate, and resolve issues is changing along with the global order; we are no longer functioning within the frameworks of the past. HultMUN 2025 challenges students to imagine what diplomacy must be like in a world where the rules are always changing and the stakes are higher than ever.

At the same time, political divisions are growing in societies all over the world. On both sides, extreme ideologies are influencing national discourse and changing policies. Whereas compromise is viewed as a weakness rather than a strength, dialogue is frequently leading to conflict. These divisions extend beyond a nation's boundaries and affect neighboring countries in the region. Global stability, multilateral initiatives, and international relations could all be impacted by these occurrences.
The impact of new technology is layered on top of all of this. Misinformation spreads more quickly than ever before. Digital platforms have become new havens for propaganda and manipulation, which distorts the truth and makes democracy and diplomacy more difficult. Truth can be disputed in this setting, and trust is brittle. The fifth edition of HultMUN, HultMUN 2025: New World Order: Redefining Diplomacy, is a call to action. It involves addressing these issues head-on and posing the question, "How do we lead with clarity in a chaotic world?", “How can we rebuild broken dialogue?”, Furthermore, “how do we reinterpret diplomacy for a generation that rejects the reality of international relations as it currently is?”
